Sky & Telescope
I’m pleased to share that I wrote the cover story of this month’s Sky & Telescope magazine. My article, Tiny Mighty Satellites, takes a look at the part small satellites, and especially cubesats, are playing in deep space exploration. Unfortunately the article is only available with a subscription - if you have one you can read it online, otherwise you will need to check in your local newsagent.
Reader Feedback
Over the past year The Quantum Cat has more than tripled its readership. I am now at a point now where the site receives tens of thousands of visitors a month, far more than I had ever thought possible. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for subscribing and reading.
A while ago I ran a reader survey. At the time I did not get much response - possibly because there were far less readers to respond. Thanks to some recent (positive!) changes in my professional life, I am in a fortunate position to be able to spend more time writing over the next few weeks. As such, I’d like to make a second attempt at asking you for feedback and ideas for the future direction of this site.
To that end, I have created a reader survey here. It should not take you long to fill in, and all questions are optional, so answer as much as you would like. You can also leave any comments or feedback as responses to this post, if you’d prefer.
Subscriptions
As you have hopefully noticed, I enabled paid subscriptions to the newsletter a while ago. A few of you have even signed up - which, since you get nothing extra for doing so, I am extremely grateful for. The more of you that subscribe, the more time I can devote to writing.
I am trying to think of ways to thank subscribers. That could include occasional exclusive content or early access to some articles. Let me know in the survey or in the comments if you have any ideas.
Finally, if you’d like to support me by subscribing, you can do so by clicking here. As some readers have asked to support me on other platforms, I am looking into setting up subscriptions on Patreon and similar sites as well.
