So interesting.. I wonder if they use the Mars rovers to also track these isotopes

That’s a good question. Logically it would make sense, and if we can compare the levels with Earth we would be able to say more about how this is all playing out. I had a look, but I can’t find any measurements that have been done - I suspect we would need to get some Mars rocks back to Earth to do a detailed enough analysis.

Where on Earth do we find ice that is 2 million years old?

If we are on te edge of a cloud and leaving it, shouldn't te rain get lighter?

The different records give us different timespans. The Moon is the oldest, going back hundreds of millions of years. Ocean sediments go back a few tens of million. The ice sheets are younger, showing only a few hundred thousand years at most.

It's these ice sheets that show the recent changes. At the moment we don't have enough precision to see changes on scales less than a few thousand years. So we can see the fall has increased over the past ten thousand years, but we can't yet see the decrease (if any) happening as we get to the edge.
